Shiraz is one of the original varieties planted in the Coonawarra, once there was more Shiraz than Cabernet in the ground. We celebrate craft in all its form and the unique combination of the terra rossa soils and Shiraz are iconic and one of our region's best kept secrets.
The small batch parcels of grapes were fermented in open fermenters for 10 days with a small portion undergoing extended maceration to develop flavour and cellaring potential. All parcels completed malolactic fermentation in stainless steel, then were barrelled down to new (25%), second, third and fourth fill French oak barrels in large and small format for 12 months maturation.
Tasting Notes
Red and blue berries continue on the palate. Soft, plush mid palate with structural tannins and a lingering finish.
