Terra Rossa Merlot Coonawarra 2024
John Parker loved Merlot. It's one of the main grapes in Bordeaux and is the blending partner in some of the world's greatest Cabernet so it was only natural John planted it on the Abbey Estate.
Sourced from Jon Kidman’s ‘Banks Thargo’ vineyard nestled on the famous cigar shaped strip of terra rossa soil. This vineyard benefits from the cooling influences of the Southern Ocean due south, which extends the season’s ripening season to help craft elegant and complex wines.
Tasting Notes
Red and black fruits continue onto palate with structural, savoury tannins and well-balanced acid.
