First Growth Cabernet Sauvignon Coonawarra 2009

Since the first vintage was released in 1991, First Growth has been made without compromise, using only the very best viticulture and winemaking practices. As a result, it is only produced when the growing season produces exceptional fruit quality, and when a particular vintage is deemed to have ageing potential beyond 15 years. Traditionally made from predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon fruit, it is a wine that proudly reflects the regional characteristics of southern Coonawarra.

A perfumed nose of Cassis and blackberry, with subtle notes of dark chocolate and smoky cedar aromas. The palate is medium bodied with rich complex dark cassis and blackberry fruit, persistent length of flavour, finishing with elegant firm tannins. A beautifully balanced and densely flavoured wine combining a powerful mouth feel with expression of fruit never overtaken by supporting oak and tannin structure.

Made for extended cellaring. Decant before serving.
